Stuff We Do

Life-groups

Life-group is a group of friends, and friends of friends meeting two to three times a month to share life and discover faith. Twice a month we meet in a home where we prepare a sizzling (!) meal together and talk about a topic relevant to our life situations. The third evening we meet up for a creative night out; exhibition, paintballing, table-football, cinema or whatever London has on offer that night. Our dream is to create an inviting and chilled opportunity for people to share the joys and the headaches of life, as well as exploring what God might offer as a response.

Alpha Course

Over 2 million people in the UK and 11 million worldwide have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life.
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away.
For more information about the CandleFactory Alpha course, contact Steffi

Prayer

Every second Monday we meet to pray. If you didn’t already know, prayer is extremely powerful and good stuff happens on Mondays… If you can’t join us, but have something you would like us to pray for, you can send a prayer request to info@thecandlefactory.org.uk

Charity

The Sandwich Project; Outreach to the homeless people:

Every second week we make some sandwiches, pack a few bags with new socks, underwear, gloves etc, fill our tea thermoses and visit some of the many homeless men and women living on the streets of London. It doesn’t take too much to make someone’s day a little bit better… For information on how to get involved, contact Kat

Abroad projects:

‘Mission Of Love India’ Project was our first charity trip abroad, and in April ‘09 thirteen of us climbed into a plane taking us to the Far East!!

We were working with a local church network in the Meghalaya region, North East India. They are already involved in great projects serving the poor, but were thrilled to receive our help to continue meeting the many needs in their region. Serving the poor abroad is a life changing experience and it helps you get a new perspective on life. We want to be a generous people and we will continue to support projects abroad. For more information about our Abroad projects, contact Grethe

Nehemiah:

Over the last few years now we have supported Nehemiah in South London, which is a great project that rebuilds the lives of broken men.
Nehemiah won The Maxie Richards Award at the Centre for Social Justice Awards 2008, for excellence in addiction treatment. They run programs in prisons, a rehab in Tooting Bec, as well as a move-on program. Check out their webpage to read more about their work and hear testimonies from men who have been transformed: www.nehemiahproject.org.uk.

Trips

Do you ever have the urge for a bit of fresh air, get out of London and have a laugh with good friends?

So do we! And a few times a year we pack our bags for a weekend, or maybe even a week and drive/fly/cycle to a random place on this planet Earth. Check out our previous trips, and if you want, join us on our next adventure!
